.Synopsis...
Isolated shower/thunderstorm chances continue this afternoon and
evening across Shasta County and the Sierra/southern Cascades
north of Interstate 80. Dry and mild weather then expected to
follow through the remainder of the week, returning to seasonable
temperatures by the weekend.

.Key Messages...

* Today:

-Probability of isolated thunderstorms: 10-20% in Shasta County
  through early evening

-Forecast rainfall: Additional accumulations of 0.25-0.5" in
  isolated thunderstorms across Shasta Co., with up to 0.1"
  possible in light showers elsewhere.

-Breezy southerly winds gusting 15-25 mph at times in the Valley
  and foothills, and 25 to 35 mph over the Sierra Crest

* Tuesday - Friday:

-Dry and warm weather expected through the remainder of the week
  with areas of Minor HeatRisk in the Valley

-Probability of high temperatures > 80F (Wednesday-Friday): 50-90%
  across the Delta, Valley, and foothills, highest
  probabilities on Thursday.

* Saturday - Sunday:

-Trend toward a somewhat unsettled pattern over the weekend

-Cool down to more seasonable temperatures expected, with breezy
  to potentially gusty northerly winds at times.

-Probability of Valley Wind Gusts > 40 mph: 20-50%, highest
  across northern and central portions of the Sacramento Valley.

-Slight chance (10-15%) for light precipitation over Shasta
  County and the northern mountains.

* Precipitation chances continue to trend down for the weekend
 period, while gusty wind potential is trending up at this time.

.AVIATION...

Predominantly VFR conditions expected at TAF sites next 24 hours,
although some MVFR/IFR in isolated SHRA/TSRA through 03z at RDD
and along the Sierra. Snow levels 8000-9000 feet. Breezy southerly
surface winds gusting up to 20 kts at times today gradually taper
off after 03z.
